Hey, all Sherlocks and Doctor Watsons! A night if intrigue awaits you on the Smoky Valley Limited dinner train, as we present our first-ever “Murder on the Smoky Valley Limited.” On Saturday, April 5, passengers in our Eveland Creek dining car will use their powers of deductive reasoning in solving a mystery where anyone can be the heinous villain! While the mystery happens only in the Eveland Creek car, all three coaches will be treated to a great dinner from Lucinda Kohman of Lucinda’s Katering in Abilene. In honor of national Chicken Cordon Bleu Day, Lucinda is preparing her version of this classic dish, with a dinner salad, potatoes au gratin, green beans, and dinner rolls, with a big piece of apple pie for dessert. Complimentary tea and water accompany the meal. Our two-hour rail adventure begins at 6:00 p.m., leaving from Abilene’s 1887 Rock Island Depot for a round trip through the Smoky Hill River Valley and a stop at the Hoffman Mill and Country Store in Enterprise, Kansas. Be your own Sherlock Holmes and solve the mystery on the Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad!
