As we approach the 81st anniversary of D-Day, the Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad pays homage to Abilene’s favorite son, General Dwight Eisenhower. Join us on Saturday, June 7, on the Smoky Valley Limited as historical impressionist Bill Nicks of Kansas City portrays Ike on this special Memorial Day weekend train! Hear Mr. Nicks portray Ike as we dine on traditional Kansas summer weekend food! Chef Jeffrey Higgins of Abilene’s Brookville Hotel will be serving Brookville Hotel fried chicken, with real mashed potatoes and gravy, creamed corn, homemade biscuits, sweet and sour coleslaw, and the Brookville Hotel’s old fashioned homemade ice cream for dessert. Iced teas and water is complimentary with your meal, and for an extra charge, beer and wine is available. The Easter Bunny will make a special appearance as we chug along the way, Enjoy this great meal as you dine in air conditioned comfort while riding through the Smoky Hill River Valley in our antique passenger coaches. Your two-hour dining adventure begins at 6:00 p.m. when our train leaves Abilene’s 1887 Rock Island Depot. It’s a night of re-enacted history on the Smoky Valley Limited! Reserve your seats today!
