GUTEN APPETIT! Imagine having the best in German cuisine as you ride in climate controlled comfort in vintage dining cars on rails that were laid in 1886. That’s the experience on the Smoky Valley Limited dinner train on the Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad! And on Saturday, July 26. Schatzi’s Schnitzel Haus in Riley is serving your choice of schnitzel or sauerbraten, with spaetzle, mushroom sauce, and red cabbage. And for dessert? Chocolate Mousse made with a dash of Mozart (chocolate) liqueur. Soft drinks and water will be available. Our journey through the Smoky Hill River Valley begins at 6:00 p.m., leaving from Abilene’s historic Rock Island Depot for a two hour ride that includes a stop at the Hoffman Mill and Country Store in Enterprise, Kansas.
