Our climate controlled antique passenger coaches and open air gondolas await you for a rail tour of the Smoky Hill River Valley and a stop at the Hoffman Mill and Country Store in Enterprise, Kansas. Our two-hour rail adventure leaves Abilene’s historic Rock Island Depot at 1:00 p.m. Whether you dine in the Wheat State Family Diner or ride as an excursion passenger in the Chicago and Enterprise coaches, we promise a great family spring break experience on the Abilene and Smoky Valley, the Kansas Heritage Railroad!

A new option available on some 1:00 p.m. Saturday trains in our classic Eveland Creek dining car will offer a family-friendly lunch experience for your family! We are following in the tradition of how railroads fed their coach passengers during long train trips. We have several caterers lined up for this season that will provide very special boxed lunches for our passengers to enjoy.
For this trip Abilene’s Brookville Hotel restaurant is preparing the meals. Adult lunches will include two pieces of their classic fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet and sour coleslaw, a biscuit, and a cookie for dessert; the Children’s box lunches will only include one piece of fried chicken). Complimentary iced tea and water will accompany meals. If you want to dine with us, be sure to make your reservations now, as dining is limited to 56 passengers.
