This Father’s Day, imagine giving dad something different: an afternoon at the theater AND a great barbeque meal, a cold beer or maybe a glass of wine and quality time with the most special people in his life…while riding on the train! On Saturday, June 20, catch the matinee performance of “Church Basement Ladies” at the Great Plains Theater, then have dinner on the Smoky Valley Limited dinner train at 6:00 p.m. Kites of Aggieville Manhattan has spent hours at the grill to create a summertime Father’s Day feast. Barbeque pork, sliced brisket, and smoked sausage, with baked beans and coleslaw, and honey cornbread for dessert. Complimentary coffee, iced tea, and water will be served, and for a little extra, enjoy a popular soft drink, cold beer, or glass of wine with your meal. Do something different for Father’s Day this year! We’ve reserved our Eveland Creek car for theater goers and the rest of our dinner guests will be seated in the Chicago and Enterprise cars. The GPT dinner and theater package is only available by calling the Great Plains Theater box office at 785-263-4574. General dinner guests can purchase their tickets here online. Take the train and ride in air conditioned comfort in our antique passenger coaches through the Smoky Hill River Valley as you enjoy a taste of Kansas on the Smoky Valley Limited!
