Psssst…did you know the month of June means it’s halfway to Christmas? And Santa is beginning to get ready to begin his annual quest to find out who’s naughty and nice. Join us on Saturday, June 13, as Santa visit’s the A&SV Smoky Valley Limited dinner train to remind us that Christmas is coming and it’s never too early to purchase tickets for the Cowtown Santa Express in November and December. Chef Manfred of Schatzi’s Schnitzel Haus in Riley, Kansas, brings years of culinary excellence to our train, featuring your choice of Schatzi’s signature golden brown schnitzel with jagersauce (mushroom sauce), OR rinderbraten, a slowly roasted beef in burgundy gravy. Either menu choice includes spätzle (soft egg noodle dumplings) and glazed carrots. And for dessert? Schatzi’s creamy, rich biramisu (a German version of tiramisu, made of dark beer, Kalua, and ladyfingers). Coffee, tea and water are complimentary. Soft drinks, beer and wine are available for purchase. Our two-hour train adventure begins at 6:00 p.m. as we leave Abilene’s historic Rock Island Depot, with a stop at the Hoffman Mill and General Store in Enterprise, Kansas. We’ll be decked in red, white, and blue and we hope you’ll join us on the Abilene and Smoky Valley, the Kansas Heritage Railroad.
