The Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad’s Smoky Valley Limited has a great idea for New Year’s Eve. Have dinner with us before you begin your celebration of the arrival of 2027! Jeff and Veronica Higgins of Abilene’s Legacy Kansas/Brookville Hotel will be cooking a delicious prime rib dinner, featuring Kansas grown prime rib, baked potato with butter and sour cream, coleslaw, cream corn, roll with butter and for dessert: strawberry shortcake. Coffee, tea or water accompany the meal, and wine, beer and soft drinks are available for purchase. Our train leaves Abilene’s historic Rock Island Depot at 5:00 p.m. for a two-hour rail adventure with a stop at the Hoffman Mill and General Store in Enterprise, Kansas, returning to Abilene by 8:30 to allow you to go on to your New Year’s Eve celebration. Make your holiday season complete as you ride the rails of Kansas history on the Smoky Valley Limited!
