Excursion Train (Diesel)

School is out and vacations have begun, so plan to come to Abilene and take the train! Our Abilene and Smoky Valley 1945 ALCO diesel locomotive will provide the power as your ride in the open air or in one of our newly painted, air conditioned passenger cars: a 1946 Chicago Northwestern 400 Streamliner Coach and a wooden passenger coach built for the MKT Railroad in 1902. Board the train at Abilene’s historic Rock Island Depot for a two hour trip through the Smoky Hill River Valley!  At Enterprise, we’ll have a 30-minute layover, where you can tour the Hoffman Mill and shop in our country store that features several varieties of home-ground flour.
