JOIN US FOR OUR TRIBUTE TO THE ‘TWIN CITIES 400″

From 1934 to 1963, passengers on the Chicago North Western Railroad traveled from Chicago to St. Paul on the “Twin Cities 400,” a high-speed passenger train that was guaranteed to make the 400-mile trip in 400 minutes. Our “Chicago” car, which was built in 1946 for these high-speed C&NW trains, was likely only a few cars away from the dining car, which would have been serving meals designed to appeal to the upper income travelers making the trip. Saturday, September 23, join us for the A&SV’s tribute to the Twin Cities 400! The menu being served by our menu consultant, Lucinda Kohman of Lucinda’s Katering in Abilene, features pork chops, with potatoes au gratin, string beans, assorted breads, lettuce and tomato salad, and apple pie for dessert, plus coffee or tea. Our prized steam engine, Santa Fe 3415, powers our train as you dine in air conditioned comfort!
