The fireworks may be over, but the good food continues as part of your Independence Day celebration on the Abilene and Smoky Valley Railroad! On Saturday, July 6, our Smoky Valley Limited dinner train presents a classic Fourth of July staple: fried chicken from Legacy Kansas in Abilene. The traditional Brookville Hotel cuisine–fried chicken, mashed potatoes with cream gravy, cream style corn, coleslaw, and homemade biscuits, topped off with a rich, chocolaty brownie with whipped cream––is a perfect throwback to the July 4th holidays of the past. Iced tea and water accompany the meal, with beer and wine available for an extra charge. The train leaves our 1887 Rock Island Depot at 6:00 p.m. for a two-hour journey through the Smoky Hill River Valley. Make this celebration of our nation’s independence complete!
